Niwa Coffee is a distinctive café that brings together the best of Australian coffee culture with subtle Japanese influences. For this cafe brand design project, we developed a unique and memorable brand identity that reflects the café’s welcoming atmosphere, quality offering, and strong connection to its local community.
At the heart of the brand is a carefully crafted logo featuring two rabbits, a meaningful illustration inspired by the story and personality behind Niwa Coffee. The logo is intentionally minimal, balancing simplicity with character to create a mark that is both recognisable and versatile. This thoughtful approach to cafe branding extends across every touchpoint, drawing inspiration from Japanese design principles while maintaining a contemporary Australian feel.
The visual identity is supported by a vibrant and flexible colour palette. A striking blue and soft pink combination creates a modern and approachable foundation, while complementary tones of yellow, orange, green, and brown provide versatility across a broad range of applications. From packaging and signage to branded merchandise, apparel, takeaway cups, and homewares, totes, caps every element works together to create a cohesive and engaging customer experience.
